Shift & Attendance

Manage employee working schedules, track daily attendance, process attendance requests, and record timesheets.

1. Create Shift Type

Go to: HR → Shift & Attendance → Shift Type

Shift types define different working schedules — morning, evening, or night shifts.

Open Shift Type Form

Navigate to HR → Shift & Attendance → Shift Type and click New.

Configure the Shift

Shift Type NameName of the shift (e.g., Morning Shift, Night Shift)
Start TimeShift start time (e.g., 08:00)
End TimeShift end time (e.g., 17:00)
Working HoursTotal working hours for this shift

Save

Click Save.

Create Shift Type

2. Create Shift Assignment

Go to: HR → Shift & Attendance → Shift Assignment

Shift assignments link employees to specific shift types for a defined period.

Open Shift Assignment Form

Navigate to HR → Shift & Attendance → Shift Assignment and click New.

Fill in Assignment Details

Shift TypeSelect the shift to assign
From DateStart of the shift assignment period
To DateEnd of the shift assignment period (optional)

Bulk Assignment

To assign shifts to multiple employees at once, use the Bulk Shift Assignment tool and select all applicable employees.

Randomized Shift Assignment

If employees should be distributed across multiple shifts randomly, select multiple shift types and enable the Randomized Shift Assignment option.

Save

Click Save.

3. Mark Attendance

Go to: HR → Shift & Attendance → Attendance

Attendance records which employees were present, absent, or on leave on a given date.

Open Attendance Form

Navigate to HR → Shift & Attendance → Attendance and click New.

Fill in Attendance Details

StatusPresent / Absent / Half Day / On Leave
ShiftThe assigned shift for this day
Leave TypeRequired if Status is On Leave or Half Day

If attendance is marked as On Leave or Half Day, select the leave type. The system will automatically adjust the employee’s leave balance.

Bulk Attendance

To mark attendance for multiple employees at once, use the Bulk Attendance tool. Select the date range, filter by department or employee, and set the status.

Save

Click Save.

4. Attendance Request

Go to: HR → Shift & Attendance → Attendance Request

Attendance requests allow employees to request corrections to their attendance records — for example, if they forgot to check in or worked from home.

Open Attendance Request Form

Navigate to HR → Shift & Attendance → Attendance Request and click New.

Fill in Request Details

ReasonExplanation for the attendance correction
ShiftThe shift the employee was on

Submit

Click Submit to send for approval.


5. Create Timesheet

Go to: HR → Shift & Attendance → Timesheet

Timesheets record employee working hours and activity breakdown for a specific date. Useful for tracking billable hours, project time, or work-time analysis.

Open Timesheet Form

Navigate to HR → Shift & Attendance → Timesheet and click New.

Fill in Timesheet Details

End DateLast date of the timesheet period

Add Time Log Entries

In the Time Logs table, add one row per activity:

Save and Submit

Click Save, then Submit to finalize the timesheet.

6. Employee Check-in

Go to: HR → Shift & Attendance → Employee Check-in

Employee check-in records can be imported from biometric devices or entered manually. These records are used to auto-generate attendance entries.

Check-in records from integrated biometric devices are automatically imported and matched against assigned shifts to generate attendance.
