HR Masters
Go to: HR → Setup → HR Masters
HR Masters hold shared lookup values used across employee records and related screens. This includes Employee Levels (grades/bands such as E1–E4 or M1–M2), Employee Group Types (what an employee group is used for), Employment Types (how an employee is engaged, e.g. Full-time, Contract), and Separation Reasons (why an employee left, used when recording an exit).
Employee Levels
Go to: HR → Setup → HR Masters → Employee Levels
Employee Levels are grade or band values assigned to employees. They help you classify roles consistently (junior → senior → management).
| Concept | What it means |
|---|---|
| Level name | Display value (e.g. L1, L2, Supervisor) |
| Where used | Employee record → Employee Level |
| Link to designation | A designation can restrict which levels are allowed |
Open Employee Levels
Navigate to HR → Setup → HR Masters → Employee Levels.
Add levels you use
Create the values your company uses (for example E1, E2, M1). Keep names short and consistent.
Map levels on designations (recommended)
On each Designation, set which levels are valid. This prevents assigning an invalid grade to a role.
When you change an employee’s level or designation, the system may refresh job history. Choose the level carefully and ensure it is allowed for that designation.
Employee Group Types
Go to: HR → Setup → HR Masters → Employee Group Types
Employee Group Types classify what an Employee Group is used for. Every group must have one.
| Concept | What it means |
|---|---|
| Type name | Display value |
| Where used | Employee Group → Group Type (required) |
Every organization starts with these values, and you can add your own:
- Attendance & Shift
- Payroll
- Leave
- Benefits
- Performance
- Notification Group
Employment Types
Go to: HR → Setup → HR Masters → Employment Types
Employment Types describe how an employee is engaged by the company (e.g. Full-time, Contract, Intern).
| Concept | What it means |
|---|---|
| Type name | Display value (e.g. Full-time, Part-time, Contract) |
| Where used | Employee record → Basic Info → Employment Type |
Every organization starts with these values, and you can add your own:
- Full-time
- Part-time
- Probation
- Contract
- Intern
- Consultant
Open Employment Types
Navigate to HR → Setup → HR Masters → Employment Types.
Add the types you use
Create the values your company uses to describe how people are engaged (for example Full-time, Contract, Intern).
Set it on the employee record
On the employee’s Basic Info tab, select the appropriate Employment Type. This is used across employee lists and reports to segment the workforce.
Separation Reasons
Go to: HR → Setup → HR Masters → Separation Reasons
Separation Reasons capture why an employee left the company. They are recorded on the employee’s Exit tab alongside the leaving date and an optional explanation.
| Concept | What it means |
|---|---|
| Reason name | Display value (e.g. Resignation, Retirement) |
| Where used | Employee record → Exit → Reason |
Every organization starts with these values, and you can add your own:
- Resignation
- Termination
- Layoff
- Retirement
- End of Contract
- Company Closure
Open Separation Reasons
Navigate to HR → Setup → HR Masters → Separation Reasons.
Add the reasons you use
Create the values your company uses to classify why an employee left (for example Resignation, Layoff, Retirement).
Record it on exit
When offboarding an employee, go to the employee’s Exit tab and set the Leaving Date, Reason (from this list), and an optional explanation.
The Separation Reason and Leaving Date on an employee’s Exit tab drive offboarding reports. Pick the closest matching reason rather than leaving it blank, so exit reporting stays accurate.
Tips
- Create levels before bulk-importing employees.
- Prefer a small, stable set of levels rather than many one-off names.
- Use the same naming style everywhere (all
L1or allLevel 1, not mixed).
