Lifecycle Setup

Go to: HR → Setup → Lifecycle Setup

Lifecycle Setup stores reusable checklists for hiring and exiting employees, plus the Skills catalog used to track employee capabilities. When you run an onboarding or offboarding under Employee Lifecycle, you pick a template and the checklist activities are copied onto that record.

1. Onboarding Templates

Go to: HR → Setup → Lifecycle Setup → Onboarding Templates

Use onboarding templates for a consistent new-hire checklist (IT access, ID card, induction, laptop, bank details, and so on).

FieldWhat it means
Template Namee.g. Factory Worker Onboarding, Office Staff Onboarding
ActivitiesChecklist rows: activity name, assigned user, begin-on days, duration days

Create the template

Open Onboarding Templates → New and name it clearly by role or location.

Add activities

For each task, set who is responsible and timing relative to joining (begin-on / duration days).

Save

Save the template. You can reuse it for every new hire in that category.

2. Offboarding Templates

Go to: HR → Setup → Lifecycle Setup → Offboarding Templates

Offboarding templates cover exit tasks: asset return, access revocation, clearance, exit interview, final settlement coordination.

FieldWhat it means
Template Namee.g. Standard Exit Checklist
ActivitiesSame pattern as onboarding — name, assignee, timing

3. Skills

Go to: HR → Setup → Lifecycle Setup → Skills

Skills are the master catalog of capabilities you can track against employees (e.g. Welding, Forklift Operation, Excel, Project Management).

FieldWhat it means
Skill NameDisplay value (e.g. Welding)
DescriptionOptional notes on what the skill covers
Where usedEmployee record → Skills tab

Create the skill

Open Skills → New, give it a clear name, and add a description if useful.

Save

Save the skill. It becomes available to assign to any employee.

Assign it to employees

On an employee’s Skills tab, rate the employee’s Proficiency (1–5) for each skill and set an allocation date. You can also assign a skill to multiple employees at once from the Employee Skill Map screen.

Skills themselves have no proficiency — proficiency (1–5) and allocation date are set per employee when the skill is assigned, not on the skill master itself.

After Lifecycle Setup

In Employee Lifecycle:

  1. Create Employee Onboarding / Employee Offboarding from a template
  2. Submit to generate tasks for assignees
  3. Track until Completed

Templates themselves are masters. The live process and status tracking happen on the onboarding/offboarding records, not on the template.
