Bank Reconciliation
Go to: Financials → Bank Reconciliation
Bank Reconciliation compares a Bank account’s ERP ledger with the bank statement and records when entries cleared the bank.
The current tool does not import a CSV bank statement or automatically suggest matches. Select a period, enter the statement balance, fetch ledger entries, and reconcile their clearance details.
Reconcile an account
Select account and period
Choose Bank Account, From Date, and To Date.
Enter the bank balance
Enter Closing Balance (Bank Statement). ERPX shows Account Opening Balance, Closing Balance ERP, and the Difference.
Fetch entries
Click Get Unreconciled Entries. Include reconciled entries only when reviewing earlier work.
Mark cleared activity
Review each ledger entry and record the supported clearance/reconciliation details using the actual bank statement.
Resolve missing activity
Use Create → Journal Entry for a genuine bank fee, interest, or other statement transaction missing from ERPX.
Confirm the difference
Refresh the summary. Investigate remaining timing items or errors until the difference is understood.
Summary fields
| Field | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Bank Account | Linked Chart of Accounts Bank posting account |
| From Date / To Date | Ledger period being reviewed |
| Account Opening Balance | ERP balance before the period |
| Closing Balance (Bank Statement) | Balance entered from the statement |
| Closing Balance ERP | ERP balance for the selected period |
| Difference | Statement balance minus ERP balance |
Create a missing journal
The inline journal form includes Posting Date, Entry Type, Description, Transaction Currency, Exchange Rate, account rows, and optional remarks. For Bank Entry, Reference Number and Reference Date are required.
Do not create a journal for a bank item that already exists in ERPX but has not cleared. Record its clearance instead. Duplicate entries make the bank balance wrong.
Common differences
| Difference | Action |
|---|---|
| Cheque issued but not cleared | Leave as an outstanding timing item |
| Deposit in ERP but not on statement | Verify deposit date and clearance |
| Bank fee or interest missing in ERP | Create and approve the correct journal |
| Wrong amount/account/date | Correct or reverse the source document |
| Foreign-currency difference | Verify exchange rate and use an Exchange Adjustment where appropriate |
