CRM Setup

Setup is where you configure CRM once, before your team starts capturing leads. Every operational screen picks its dropdown values from these masters, so a missing master shows up later as an empty dropdown or a blocked save.

Sales Stage is mandatory. An opportunity cannot be created until the sales stages exist — the system resolves a stage for every opportunity and reports a “Sales stage is not configured” error if it cannot find one.

What to configure, in order

#MasterWhy you need it
1Sales StageRequired for every opportunity; drives the pipeline report
2Lead SourcesRecords the channel a lead came from
3Lost ReasonsRecords why an opportunity was lost
4TerritoriesRoutes leads, opportunities, and customers by region
5Sales TeamsWho sells, at what commission
6Customer GroupsClassifies prospects and customers

Territories, Sales Teams, and Customer Groups are tree structures. Each is seeded with a starting hierarchy the first time the module is used, so you can rename and extend rather than start from an empty screen.

Rules shared by all three hierarchies

RuleWhat it means
Is GroupOnly a record marked Is Group can have children
Unique nameNames must be unique within your organisation
No circular movesA node cannot be its own parent, or move under its own descendant
Delete leaves firstA node with children cannot be deleted
Group → leafIs Group cannot be switched off while children exist

Each screen offers a flat list view and a tree view; sales teams add a chart view.
