Setup
Go to: HR → Setup
Setup is where you configure HR once before day-to-day work. Operational screens (Leave, Payroll, Performance, Lifecycle) expect these masters to already exist.
Do not skip Setup. Creating employees, running leave, or generating salary slips without the related masters usually leads to missing dropdowns, wrong balances, or blocked approvals.

Status tip for setup masters
Most setup records use:
Draft → Approved / Active → Inactive / Cancelled
Approve a master before you expect it in dropdowns. Many records cannot be moved from Active back to Draft — correct carefully, then inactive/cancel if needed.
